Name: Dennis Kristos on Jul 27, 2010Comments: By having changed the procedure by removing responsibility for Security license renewals previously done through the employer and having placed that onus on the security worker, the government has in effect created itself a cash cow. Under this new system, not even extenuating circumstances (leave of absence, bereaval leave, illness) for what you inflexibly consider a late renewal, are taken into consideration.Flag

Name: Stephen Hughes on Jul 28, 2010Comments: I am a security guard and I feel the fee's are far to high a price to be payed by the some of the lowest income earners. I enjoy the work, but don't understand why the regulation are not enforced. If I am paying for this regulation enforcement, then why do I not see it action. Where is the money going?Flag

Name: Jaime Lam on Jul 28, 2010Comments: I am currently licenced in the Province of BC and have paid the required licencing fees. I do not believe it has any purpose (other than a tax grab) to charge someone renewing their licence after a lapse more than a regular renewal.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 28, 2010Comments: i agree its too much i think there should be a late processing feee of max 20 dollars but then that would mean the fat cats need to speed up the process because i know alot of people who have sent their applications in way in advance and they still end up being late and then get charged for the late fee.Flag

Name: Anthony Kosovic on Jul 28, 2010Comments: I retired form in law enforcement approximately 4 years ago. Last year I de-sided to work part time as a security worker. I found that most Security workers carry out their duties in a professional manner under difficult conditions with very little pay. There is no logical reason for doubling the fee for lapsed license renewals. This is definitely a money grab by an insensitive government taking money from people that can least afford it.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 31, 2010Comments: I am a Commissionaire, but only a mere Detention Guard.....I would like to take the Security Licence Course, but cannot afford it. The fee for the course and the fee for the license and renewing it are WAY TOO HIGH. Perhaps there is too much bureaucracy @ the upper level - the workers at the bottom are not paid enough in the first place, especially for graveyard shift.Flag
