Name: Kylie Mart on Nov 6, 2006Comments: Mr. Collett has taught two generations of my family in outdoor eduction. He is really smart and has understanding and patience for his students. including me. I remember when I was little, maybe 1st grade, he took our class on a field trip. I thought he was the neatest person ever because he could tell us the names of trees, and all different types of animals. He is a great guy.Flag

Name: Scott Beck on Nov 7, 2006Comments: Bill was very supportive of my filmmaking projects in grade school and was the first person to put one of my movies on TV! The film was a research project about trees at Camp Wyoming called "Forrest Stump." Bill enjoyed the movie and made sure that it aired on the local access channel. It meant a lot to me at the time and it still does!Flag

Name: Kristin Bergman on Nov 7, 2006Comments: Wow! Mr. Collett- you had a profound impact on me probably begining in 1978 when you took my class on field trips, day camp. You were the first person to put a snake in my hands!! The wild environment has been the most sustaining passion of my life-poltically,professionally, poetically. Your love for outdoor education and your earthy persona struck a deep chord in me that no other suburban friend or role model had yet illuminated. Thank you so much for finding the way to integrate this awareness into our modern world... Your dedication has and will impact our consciousness.Flag

I have participated as a chaperone on some of the trips since my kids have been at Hoover and they are always positive, educational, and fun experiences for all. This community can surely continue to support this valuable part of our children's educations.Flag

Name: Jim And Connie Hoskins on Nov 7, 2006Comments: Bill's life of service to Bett. schools should be rewarded!!!! Our daughter's carreer choice is a direct result of years of Bill Collett's mentoring. She is a Forester for the great city of Chicago. She has been to Washington DC as an advocate for forestery and environmental concerns. Bill was a role model for her. We will be forever grateful to him for his love of our young people, our world and the community of Bettendorf. He is so important in our family's life our little Heather wanted him and his family at her wedding. Bill Collett is vital to Bettendorf School students.Flag
