At ComiCon San Diego it was revealed by the BBC Merlin panel that there will no longer be any video diaries included in the home release versions of the BBC series, Merlin. It is our sincere hope and wish that the diary footage be re-instated as part of the home release for the following reasons: 1. They allow us as fans to see the cast in their own personal element and not as the fictional characters they portray. 2. They allow us as fans to gain some measure of the various tasks and enormous effort on the part of the crew, which largely goes unrecognized altogether beyond a credit listing. 3. They provide excellent market value and that special something extra that makes it worth investing in the home release DVD's as opposed to waiting for domestic broadcast re-airing. While we as signators are aware of the time and cost of editing this footage, we also believe that this footage is of exceptional value to our experience of the series itself and as such, worthy of the investment.
