Nicholas BruceThe courts are no place to enforce ones own religious beliefs. Green must now pay the price for what was essentially a nonsense case nothing more than a publicity stunt gone wrong.
Ian WIf Stephen Green didn't want to have to pay the money being asked then he shouldn't have insisted on propagating his ridiculous claim through the courts. If you act like an idiot then you have to be prepared for the consequences. PAY UP you small minded bigot!!!
AnonymousStephen Green should pay for his unpleasantries
Stephen RichardsAn excellent result against Stephen Green and one that should stay as it is. This man, although entitled to an opinion, has spread enough ignorant bile about for far too long, and maybe he can use this judgement to open his eyes to the real world going on around him.

David WainwrightMr Green chose to persue this matter through the courts and must meet the costs of his own decision to do so, Why should anyone else pay for his frivolous attempt at publicity for his bigotted point of view? his actions have caused a great deal of controversy which was his objective, now he should pay the bill for his expensive waste of everyones time and energy .

R BreedenNo doubt, the Lord will provide. The licence-payers certainly shouldn't have to.
Ian PotterI can't condone some of the bile here, a reaction to that of Christian Voice I suspect, but the law is the law. Green should pay up, if you attempt to use the courts to restrain freedom of expression within a multicultural Britain, you should be prepared to live with the consequences. I'm sure Christian Voice has enough supporters to find the funds. It was I feel a funny and interesting show that deserved to be on UK TV. You may not share my opinion but I'm not trying to take the various religious slots of BBC radio and TV.
S JohnsonWould he have waived the money if he had won? You could feel sorry for this pitiful misguided fool, but he is so incredibly vindictive and hateful he deserves every thing he gets. Chalk one up for intelligence.
NikYou sir, are a disgrace to your faith.

Will TunstallIt's just this sort of hypocracy and double standards that has lead to the majority of intelligent people to turn away from the outdated ideas and concepts religeous people claim to live by.

AnonymousMaybe he should pray for the money?
Steve CMake him pay, bigot that he is!!

James BrooksHe made his bed....
Iszi LawrenceHe has caused a lot of distress to the people involved and while I approve of him voicing his opinions, by involving the courts he must be made meet his responsibilities. The law must be treated with respect and wasting the courts time with silly accusations should not be encouraged. He wanted to ruin a show and that is precisely what he helped to do. Now he has to pay for it.
John EldersHe should pay in full to prevent him doing it again, and to dissuade others from damaging other people's livelihood. It's so hypocritical to try and destroy someone else's career, then complain when the tables are turned.
Adam WalshAnd the lord* shalt not provide for Stephen Green, and he doth not want a hypocritical bigot being his "voice". May Stephen Green burn in hell* for life everlasting* *may not actually exist
Sian HarrisI'm sure the Bible has a fairly strong line on Debtors but I could (happily) be wrong
James BrooksHe made his bed and should certainly lie in it!

aureliedont do it
Ben DineenIt's a pity that the £90,000 weren't trebled. Pay up, Mr. Green!
RobServes him right. He ruined the tour for people, now he must pay the price.
Mark Read
Rory O'SullivanDon't take up court cases you an't afford to lose, simple lesson in life there
AnonymousWould Green have let the BBC off if he had one......... course not. Maybe he has learnt to think of the consequences of his actions.
Martin GoodeMaybe if I criticise Mr Green by distributing some flyers he would agree to pay for them? I'm very rich but it's only fair.

Gary DeaMr Green For you to cause Mr Thoday to be subjected to substantial personal expense to defend his lawful entitlements, while not being in a position to compensate him for that expense, is what is truly vindictive. To use the estimated half million pounds your actions against his show’s tour and DVD have already cost him as an example of his ability to have you cost him even more money defies all rational analysis. If the costs really were “punitive” you would be liable not only for that half million pounds, but also a substantial additional amount to punish your malicious litigation. At ninety thousand, an amount that you yourself view as no big deal - so long as someone other than you pays it - you got off lightly. Remember: the Lord is your shepherd, there is nothing you shall want. Now cough up.

AnonymousStephen Green should realise his brand of bigotry is as unacceptable as any other. No lawyer would have taken the case without warning him of the potential risks. Why should anyone else pay for his mistake? I see no reason why the BBC Licence Payer should be the one to help him pay for losing.

DpMA very funny situation. The BBC should definitely not waste any more of my [our] money by letting this fella off of his costs. Proof that the single law of the land is greater than the will [law] of your imaginary friend.

Chris LocheryI am so baffled by this, I don't even know where to begin. I feel the BBC must insist on payment. We need to have a free and open media and - as long as their programming has some intellectual or artistic merit - the BBC should be at liberty to broadcast a range of programming without fear of death-threats. By all means Mr Green was entitled to voice his opinion, and take legal action if he felt it appropriate, but he must understand that he does so at a risk. If the BBC allow him to avoid payment, it can only encourage other people to take such misguided action against them again. Obviously people won't start taking potshots at the BBC in the hope they'll strike it lucky and win a few quid, but it certainly it won't discourage any similar lawsuits in the future if the prosecution think they can weasel their way out of paying up.
SatanExcellent work, Mr green - my young apprentice. What a prime cockle.
