RichardLomasFreedom of speech is important but freedom to be obnoxious, insulting and offensive towards those who have heartfelt respect for God is not acceptable in my opinion.
AnAtheistThe frivolous prosecutions brought by Green were against Thompson and Thoday as individuals, not against the BBC. The BBC has nothing to do with it. Stop trying to get your grubby mitts on my license fee money. Stop trying to turn this FREE country into a petty theocracy. All you so-called christians calling for free speech must be mad -- how the hell is free speech served by censorship? "War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength." Richard Dawkins doesn't go far enough.

AnonymousAnonymousStephen Green needs to pay the costs he incurred ob his absurd lawsuit. HE MUST PAY.

DavidBarnesYou really need to search your hearts regarding this issue. Should you pursue the matter of costs against Stephen Green then you will further distance yoursleves from the many who hold high Christian values in this country.
AnonymousAnonymousPeople, including Stephen Green should be responsible for their actions. He wasted the courts time and cost the other parties money he owes a debt he should pay up and stop whining.

GruntfuttockThe FlatulentIf Stephen Green takes flippant torts against people he should be prepared to lose. To take a case is to be prepared to lose it. If you cannot take that then you should be very, very careful who you sue and on what basis. Crying about losing silly case just shows you to be a crybaby, Cry Craybaby Cry. Tell me, did your loss make the baby Jesus cry too?

youdeservetoloseYou took the Matter to court, knowing you could lose, knowing you could face costs. you show no mercy for others in your intentions, why should you expect any back? You have been ordered to pay the costs by a court, and you should do so , or face the same treatement as anyone else would.. I think its what they call "getting your come-uppance"...
vIVPARKERPlease waive your costs against Stephen Green. He is a holy man who obeys God. Its time the BBC started to obey God and not mammon. If you do not drop these costs you will incur a nasty judgement on you and it will not be coming from any UK court.
AdamCreenI do not agree with this petition, Stephen Green is an embarrassment to Christians everywhere and he looks even stupider with this ridiculous criticism of BBC spending. He deserves to go bankrupt as a consequence of bringing a silly legal claim.

PhilipHopkinsI fully supported Stephen's action in this matter and trust that he will not suffer personal and financial hardship as a result of taking a stand for the Christian faith and the name of Christ

susangarciaI felt so strongly that the BBC should not use my licence money to show the blasphemous Jerry Springer The Opera that when our protests were ignored in protest I did not buy a TV licence for 6 months and did not watch television for that time which was hard. I since have obtained an old black and white television for my family so now have just a black and white licence. I am incensed that such wealthy men should seek to walk over such a brave man; Stephen Green who represented so many people, because they are powerful. Have you no shame? Susan Garcia
BobTDogStephen Green is a vindictive and petty litigant. I do not want my licence fee used to pay his cost. No way.
BobTDoggod loves everyone but you
StephenWrightAlthough I do not find myself in complete agreement with Mr Green about either the tenor of his attack on the show or the sweeping comments about the BBC above, I do support his right as a Christian to make such protests and regard the costs orders made against him as unjust.

AshleyDickensonAs I see it, Mr Green is unable to afford the costs that the Corporation is demanding. I respectfully ask that they be waived or substantially reduced. Yours sincerely, Ashley DICKENSON

maskedgrappler***NOT A SIGNATURE*** I hope stephen green gets butt-raped by a gorilla on viagra. Thou shalt not preach outside the pulpit nor expect undue respect for something no-one can prove exists
MrGodA vindictive little shit like you asking others not to be vindictive? Its pathetic. It couldn't have happened to a nastier man, may you and your evil rot in hell.

eileenwojciechowskaMr. Green has been extremely courageous in defending his faith. In this age of so called 'equality', I'm afraid the reality is the opposite.
JohnStrong1. You do not have the right not to be offended. 2. If Christians believe in God, why do they need litigation to validate their beliefs? 3. The politicization of religion will be bad for religious freedom in the long run anyway--people like this do not have the interests of the faithful in mind in the first place.

JohnPhillips against this petitionNo I won't sign the petition as this legal action was not in the public interest but only the interest of a bigoted minority group who want to control how we think.
KatherineJonesBad form!!
AlexNovakThe fact that blasphemy is still technically illegal is ridiculous. Trying to prosecute a musical for blasphemy is stupid. Just don't go to see it. Blasphemy is the obligation of every right-minded person lest we sink back into the barbarity of theistic folly.
MickMcTiernanThis is rubbish! This man Green tried to use an archaic law which should have been taken off tyhe statute books years ago, tto take a PRIVATE oprosecution against Thompsona and Thoday in order to impose HIS view of a god on the rest of us...fortunately, he lost. He deserves to pay the other sides costs and is bloody lucky he didn't get punative damages awarded against him
RayMillsStop whining and pay up you whining whiners.
kathrynoxleyDear Mr Thompson and Mr Thoday, As a trained classical singer I find it appaling that an "opera" has been written in the name of being clever and progressive. Our forefathers honoured the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in this land. I would humbly suggest that you would not dare to treat Muhammed in the same way.
