Battle Against Bloodclots

Currently 2 million people suffer from Deep Vein Thrombosis, a clotting disorder in the blood. 600,000 of the 2 million are faced with a life threatening pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that has broken off in the body and travels the blood stream to the lungs. This petition is to introduce mandatory testing for all genetic disorders that make women predisposed to blood clots before being prescribed hormonal birth control, and also during prenatal lab work. All hormonal medicine will increase the chance for a clot to form in the legs, arms, chest and brain. Pregnancy also increases the chances for a clot which threatens the mother and the fetus. It is also intended to commit physicians to disclose the adverse effect of any hormonal therapy in detail with warnings of risks and symptoms.
Please sign this petition so that we can save the lives of those who may not even know they have this condition.
