Allegedly fixing the '85 draft lottery, suspending several players for a fight during the '07 Suns/Spurs playoff series that were not even involved (they merely left the bench, which violates a league rule Stern himself enacted), levying heavy-handed fines against coaches and players brave enough to comment on the oft times inconsistent officiating by NBA referees (even going so far as to threaten a lifetime ban of former Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy for such criticisms), implementing a dress code many consider to be austere (some even say racist), and now, blocking a 3-team trade that would've benefitted all teams involved; David Stern's commisionership has been all about control, bordering on megalomania. This most recent controversy is by far his most egregious offense. It's time we, as basketball fans, demand his resignation for the betterment of the league and the future of the sport.
