This petition is to provide documentation of the vast number of recreational enthusiasts who enjoy the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commissions (WRC) water access point at "The Basin" at Fort Fisher State Recreation Area who feel strongly that more "non-attached trailer parking" should be provided. This water access site located at 2514 S Fort Fisher Blvd. Kure Beach, NC 28449 at coordinates 33° 57' 32.19" N, 77° 56' 30.66" W provides access to activities of various types including sightseeing, picnicking, hiking, motor boating, sail boating, fishing, kayaking, kiteboarding, windsurfing as well as others. The boat ramp area has recently been improved and two thirds of the parking is now allocated to "vehicles with attached trailers only".  This parking alocation frequntly results in a shortage of parking spaces for vehicles without trailers.  We the signees of this petition urge the WRC to provide a more equitable allocation of parking spaces based on present and past usage patterns.
