Sarah Darer Littman | If a parent doesn't want their child to read a book, fine. But they shouldn't be denying *other people's* children the right to read that book.

Navah Wolfe |
Jillian Betteridge | They shouldn't punish the people who like Maureen Johnson's books, including 'The Bermudez Triangle'. If that woman doesn't want her child to read it, whoopdy doo for her. Don't take it out on people who enjoy the book.
Jill Davis | This wonderful book does not deserve to be taken off the shelves in any library! Yes, it does have a case of Homosexuality, but that is life! In any case, there is no graphic sex scene, actually there is absolutely no sex in it what so ever! People should take the time to read this amazing book, and see for themselves what it has between its covers.
Cristina Thompson | The Bermuda Triangle is a really entertaining book and I'm in love with it.This book should not be banned just for having two girls kissing. There is no sex, just kissing. Homosexuality is no reason for a book to be banned, that is just plain stupid. The fact is, is that there is plenty of it in the world, and a mere book won't change that. This is a spectacular book, and people should take the time to actually read it and see it's beauty.
Deborah Luchenbill |
Amalie O'Hara | The world has a lot of horrible things happening in it. Homosexuality is not one of them. Build a bridge into the 21st century and run over it. You're already six and a half years late.
Rachel Bornstein |
Valentina Keslowe |
Rebecca Bats | Ms. Johnson's book is extremely appropriate. I think that the Barltlesville parents who object to her book should actually read the book and then reconsider their words. Most importantly, they should note that there is no sex in the book! So many of their claims are void.

Jamie H. | Book banning is always wrong, but this is just sheer homophobia at work. The whole situation makes me ashamed of America.
Lucy Ridsdale |
Chris LeMieux | People need to have the right to make their own judgements. If someone doesn't want their kid to read a book, fine, that's their right, but let me make that decision for myself and my kids. Don't try to make it for me.
Penni Russon | Melbourne, Australia
Ashley Haire | Whats wrong with it???? It doesnt make any sense....
Katie Zenke | Banning this book makes no sense whatsoever! Please don't take it off shelves!

Danielle Schulman | I am a Children's Librarian in a public library. I have just finished this book, and I found it to be open, honest, and above all a wonderful story exploring the meaning of friendship. There is no inappropriate content in this book, and certainly no sex. I feel very strongly that this book should remain on the shelves.
Carrie Palsson | I used to live in Bartlesville and actually did my student teaching at the high school. I know the town is ultra-conservative, but it sickens me to hear that book banning is taking place, especially when the committee doesn't even read the book first!
Stacy Raulerson |
Hana Reese | don't ban the 1st amendment.

Anonymous | Reading is the basis of finding knowledge & understanding life. If new generations are banned from reading books involving common or important topics, prejudice will grow. The first step to halting prejudice, & therefore peace among all people, is to let new generations read about others and how others choose to live - even if the 'others' are fictional.

Linda Covella |
Kelly Riordan | The Bermudez Triangle is an amazing book and has nothing inappropriate in it at all!! Books should not be banned simply because there are homosexual characters in them. Please keep The Bermudez Triangle on your shelves!
Julie Ertl |
Mandy Millican | Book banning is wrong, wrong, wrong.
Michelle Ann McGovern | I find it appalling that any school district would ban a book from its shelves. Beyond that, I am disgusted that this book has been removed from library shelves without due and appropriate steps being taken, but merely based on the statements of one homophobic parent.

| 347 | Jena | NO BANNING!!!
STOP BANNED BOOKS!!!! |
Dianne | Book Banning is wrong, and it is not only un-American, it is both un-Canadian and simply uncivilized.
| 349 | Epiphany | Fascism. Complete and utter fascism is what it is.
Denying any knowledge, whether or not you agree on the opinion stated within the book, is just selfish. |
