| 3 | Ally Carter | I have always been proud to be from Northeastern Oklahoma. As an author of young adult literature, I've constantly tried to write stories that reflect the amazing character and kindness found in this part of the country. Unfortunately, the practice of banning books serves only to perpetuate negative stereotypes about the place I love so much.
I urge you to reconsider your decisions.

| 5 | Carleen Huxley | I work as a librarian at the Bartlesville Public Library. I am also a mother to a son. I want my son to be raised in a community that respects and encourages diversity the way all democratic communities should. The Bermudez Triangle is an age appropriate book for ninth and tenth graders and contrary to what is being said, does not contain any sex. I would encourage those who are opposed to the book to read its contents thoroughly before judging it and potentially threatening the intellectual freedoms which are fundamental to the integrity of our country. |
