Keep the dog park at Baron Cameron in Reston, VA

Reston Community Center and Fairfax County are planning to build a new community center in Baron Cameron Park. This would not only eliminate several of the athletic fields, but would also remove the dog park. The Baron Cameron dog park is the only one in the area and is frequented by hundreds of dogs every week. It is also the only one in the county that is fully wheelchair accessible. Please sign if you want to keep the dog park at Baron Cameron. This petition will be presented at one of the upcoming community planning meetings.

2 years ago Comments: I just moved here from SF bay area, California where we had lots of dog parks. I really appreciate the small and large dog parks in Reston as they're really close and well maintained. I've heard from other people from other cities that this is the closest one to them, otherwise they'd have to go to Chantilly. Please keep this beautiful space (dog park) and fields open and undeveloped. As several have stated, you should move the community center (if you'll build one) to an already developed and unused parking area that can handle the impact of the center uses. Though as others have stated why does Reston need TWO community centers?
