Stop the City of Barcelona From Hunting Parrots

The petition

We, the undersigned, object to the planned hunt of wild monk parakeets in the City of Barcelona, Spain. We believe that:

1. Resorting to lethal means of wild parrot control is cruel in every instance.

2. The City of Barcelona has failed to investigate non-lethal means of wild parrot control, including the construction of alternate nest platforms and other non-lethal control.

3. The planned hunt is a particularly cruel way to control these birds.

Unless and until this wild parrot hunt is called off, we resolve to:

a) Refuse to visit Spain in the future.

b) Inform everyone we know who is planning a trip to Europe to avoid Spain, and specifically the City of Barcelona.

c) Refrain from buying any products manufactured in or imported from Spain.

We hope that the City of Barcelona relents and rethinks its approach to the wild parrots which live there, but if not, we are prepared to peacefully protest this action and exert our collective economic power to end this cruel practice.
