I am starting this petition because I am fed up with the rising costs of school uniforms. My son attends a school where it costs £20 for a sweatshirt. Add this to the trousers, shirts, tie, shoes and P.E kit (including trainers and football boots) and it soon amounts to a small fortune. This is especially difficult for parents who either are unable to work or unable to find work. There are limited resources to help these parents and some find themselves getting into debt just to buy uniforms. Schools will say it is "so there is no bullying for those who cannot afford the trendy clothes". Nowadays though it is cheaper to buy our kids the 'trendy' clothes rather than the uniform required by the schools. If you find yourselves in this situation or just believe kids should not be FORCED to wear uniforms please support me and sign the petition. Thank you
