53 Pat Lindsey, IBCLCPatIBCLC@aol.comOrlando, FLHaving used personal products of any type for resale is a HEALTH issue. There are only a few hospital grade breastpumps that are rated for more than single user. http://www.llli.org//llleaderweb/LV/LVJunJul04p54.html http://www.llli.org//llleaderweb/LV/LVJunJul04p54.html Please help stop the resale of these used pumps that could put infant and their mothers at risk.IBCLC020203
54 Susan Purdypurdy.2@osu.eduColumbus, OHAs a breastfeeding mother, I just didn't know what pump to get and if this option had been available to me, I might have succumbed to saving money too, not realizing the risk I was putting myself and my baby to. This info needs to get out---we don't share toothbrushes and we shouldn't share pumps that aren't meant to be used for more than one mother.Lactation Consultant030103

65 Christi Gareisclgareis@gmail.comUSAI am concerned about the safety of used single use breast pumps being sold on eBay. As these items appear to be controlled by the FDA - I am surprised that eBay is not taking this issue more seriously.Doula student010302

84 AnonymousAnonymousMAI have used a "Used" pump but it was about 8 years old when I got it so any pathogens are highly unlikely to have survived. Additionally I got it from my sister. I didn't buy it from a stranger. I stopped pumping a few months ago.Insurance020103

86 Jenny Harmonthe_other_alice_@yahoo.comSCI totally agree. FYI--they have banned USED CLOTH DIAPERS TOO! They need to get a clue. This is such a disservice to mothers since these pumps can end up being non-functional as well and they will have wasted their money. I'm so glad you took the initiative to go after this.CSR at a mommy-baby boutique, we sell pumps and educate women about them010203
87 AnonymousAnonymousSingaporeMany mothers, especially new mothers, mistakenly assume that it is safe to buy or share single user pump as long as they replace the entire collection kit. We really need to join hand-in-hand to educate and alert everyone on this risk.Trained breastfeeding counsellor010203
