Citizens initiative to ban the state/developer private property \'tax and takings, governmental land \'use\' control scam, deed restricted MANDATORY membership homeowners associations. These home purchases are sold frequently with an undisclosed continuing lien on the property subjecting them to seizure and foreclosure for \'property taxes\' in the form of assessments, or use restriction violations. They are a \'use\' right disguised as a sales transaction, subjecting the property to seizure in many states throughout the nation, and due to state/developer collusion for profit and tax revenue, comprise now the fastest growing and largest segment of new home sales, with the end result that within two-three generations, there will be no unencumbered residential properties for future generations of Americans.

I lived in one - and ended up with a $175K total tab for a flower bed border identical to dozens of others - because so many lies were slung at us that we didn't know WHAT to correct..Led by an entrenched nasty attorney as chairman for over 9 years and suing 1/4 of the residents, throwing cases to his pals. Its a wonder that ANY of these hell holes are honest - there is no effective regulation so they tend to sink into the hands of the crookedest SOBs alive. Fix them or abolish them!!!

They billed me the unpaid payments of the previous owner and harrassed and charged late fees, interest, postage, etc. These HOA's are one of the biggest scams made legal in our country. How can we go about stopping these leaches?
