Sub: Problems faced by workers in Information Technology Enabled Services Sector during 7 blasts that rocked Bangalore

Respected Sir,

Greetings from UNITES Professionals India.

Indian workers and companies need the partnership of trade unions in the fast growing services and IT sectors to end a democratic deficit and tackle common issues UNITES Professionals was formed. UNITES is currently operating in the metro cities of India with a membership of 15,000 plus ITES workers as it members.

Through this memorandum we would like to highlight problems faced by workers in Information Technology Enabled Services Sector and would like to draw your attention for having it resolved. This is not the first time these terror attacks bear the hallmarks of destabilizing IT workers and the companies that operate from Bangalore.

In this context we would like the Government of Karnataka to form a committee which will monitor the threat perceptions to IT/ITES & BT firms both from Physical and Data terror threats by terror groups. We would also like you to enhance the protection to IT/ITES & BT firms and employees by involving the firm’s security staff and the Police personnel to protect employees and work from being disrupted/stopped.

We also urge to all the employees to condemn the cowardly act of the group responsible for this act and request the employees to support their firm’s and Government in this crucial time.
We thank you for your time and look forward to betterment of IT & ITES employee’s welfare.
Regards
Karthik Shekhar Prithviraj Lekkad
