Dear Record Company/ HM government Please outlaw the wanton destruction of classic tracks by publicity hungry pop idles in the name of charity If they want to write a charity song... great (feed the world? rubbish, but it raised lots of cash, and we don't stumble across the good version on our ipods... so fine by me) If they want to donate, fantastic... CAN YOU DO IT QUIETLY, PLEASE? But don't ruin my enjoyment of and emotional associations to a fantastic record by forever tying it to your misguided warblings... PS Please don't misunderstand me... give what you can afford to the charity of your choice... they do fantastic work.
