    Comments: I suffered from anorexia and bulemia through the late 80's and most of the 90's. If these sites had been available then, I surely would have died. I have a 12 year old daughter and I hate the idea that these sites are available to assist in the self destruction of young women. Please ban these sites.

    Comments: Umm NO... Im a founder af a great Pro-Ana site. I myself am Ana-Mia. We specifically put on there the dangers of being ana-mia and dont encourage anyone who doesn't have an ED to not get one. But these sites are for the people who have ED's and need help. Some girls and guys struggle with it everyday and have noone to talk to, but on the web you can be anonamous and still share your feeling and thoughts about your ED. The other members support anyone who is recovering, or has been Ana-Mia for years. So if you bann the sites then where will they go counselors dont do anything. Ive been there. Alot of people respond better when they know that nobody can figure out who they are. Ana_Mia is a sickness and if young girls and guys cant express themselves then they keep all their emotion built up and one day it'll burst out and maybe even commit suicide because nobody is there to listen and respond. If you ban these sites you might be responsible for a young persons death.

Those of us who go to pro ana sites already have ED's and we dont encourage people who dont already have them to "try it"...its called "freedom of speech" and freedom of choice..."pro ana" doesnt mean "promoting anorexia" it means THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE EITHER WAY. i have no problem with you CHOOSING to reject ana and to stay away from pro ana sites, but i DO have a problem with you trying to deny me the same RIGHT TO CHOOSE because i might not pick the choice YOU decided was right for you.

    Comments: I am 36 and have been bulimic and anorexic since I was 18. I went into cardiac arrest when I was 23 but that, of course, didn't stop me. It continued through the years either restricting or bingeing/purging every day. Finally at age 34 I went into treatment for over a month and am slowly recovering from this disease. Bulimia and anorexia isn't just some "fad" that will pass. It is a disease. Once you grab hold of it, it does not let you go until you are near death, emotionally and physically. These pro-ana sites are just evil, absolutely dangerous to young girls/women and boys/men. If officials' goals are to protect society, this should be on the top of the list. It is life or death when it comes to this subject!
