TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO: Whereas, there are proposals for wind turbine farms in the County of Huron/Bruce. Whereas this will have a major adverse effect on migrating wildlife including Tundra swans, bald eagles, birds, monarch butterflies and bats due to their flight paths; Whereas this will significantly affect the vista of this great County; Whereas this could adversely affect the health and well-being of thousands of families and senior citizens in these highly populated communities (noise, sleep disorders, depression, headaches, etc.) due to the proximity of these wind turbines; Whereas this will have a significant adverse effect on the economy, as this is an unsustainable, inconsistent and very expensive technology; Whereas this will have a significant negative impact on property values which will lead to a diminished tax base for the County of Huron/Bruce; Whereas the Wind Energy Companies want to locate wind turbines at the expense of the environment, our health, the economic well-being of our community; Whereas the Wind Energy Companies will financially strain the tax payers and electricity rate payers of this community; We, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to ban the establishment of any wind turbines in Huron/Bruce, a sensitive ecological and environmental area on The West Coast of Ontario.
