The use of study drugs is not an uncommon thing, here at UBC. Drugs like Modafinil, Adderall, Ritalin, Dexedrine, Nootropil & Ephedrine Are used in fairly large amounts towards the end of the term, to allow one to focus on material that one hasn’t been bothered with all semester, up till the very end. Whats so bad about that, one, might question. After all, if one chooses to abuse the drug alongside his/her body or mind, it’s their problem, and they’ll face consequences, right? Wrong. Think of all the people screwed out of entrance into their program as a direct consequence of an individuals’ abuse of a drug that he/she gained access to illegally. Think of the money, time and effort they invested, trying to enter a program, only to be rejected as a direct consequence of the performance of drug fueled students. As long as it continues to be legal, why would honestly pay? Why encourage the use of this unfair shortcut? Sign the petition. Help level the playing field.
