The use of mobile phones in cinemas is on the rise in the UK. Every time someone takes out a phone and uses it in the cinema the bright screen is very distracting in the dark auditorium, drawing your eye to it and spoiling your enjoyment of the film. The cinema chains play a request to not use phones before a film is shown, but it is not strict policy. This petition has been set up to show that there is a significant amount of cinema-goers who find use of mobile phones distracting and unwelcome when they have paid over £8 to go and see a film. If we get enough signatures then it will be presented to the major cinema chains to put pressure on them to enforce a strict ban on phone use during a film.
