This petition has been started to show the public feeling against the proposed housing developments - Aston Road and New Road.
127 Houses in Aston Road
160 Houses in New Road
It is the size of this development that concerns me, also the extra traffic it will generate.
The risk of flooding is also of great concern.
too many houses means too many cars and an attendant risk of flooding
bampton is on a flood plain , bampton will continue to flood as it did in 2007,the shillbrook river is not kept clear. nor are the ditches in bampton.we have many cars garaged on the public highway, very bad bus service ,no cycle paths to carterton or witney , no car shairing , our bus service is under review. no work near bampton , no bus to oxford hospitals , or rail stations , only a very small car park in town . we are a junction for several towns .some nearby towns are also adding to the housing boom . as witney / carterton / brize Norton /wantage , ect this will add to our traffic, then we have schools/ doctors / sewage / water /rainwater run off / the infrastructure is not yet in place to cope with any large housing developments . and who will pay for the maintenance of ponds / swales / ect . can fire engines / couriers/ library van / refuse truck / ect get into the jumble of dwellings that will have no view/ sun / gardens carparking or even garages . and this is a for profit exercise not a benefit for people , by the people . if it was the people should decide not planners or developers , and perhaps it should be for the people. but why not build some garages to get cars off our highways
