This law changes the whole equation of taking a trip from so far and makes is un-practicle. I have full faith in you and spirit of this country God Bless AmericaFlag

Name: Rahul Daterao on Apr 17, 2002Comments: The rule will severely affect all Indian workers in USA who want their loved one's to visit them and stay with them for a couple of months. It adds a financial and emotional burden to an already stressful existence for those workers trying to live the American dream in an alien country. I just wish things were a bit easier and helpful.Flag

Name: Satish Dave on Apr 17, 2002Comments: 1) This will affect law abiding immigrants whose parents come here to visit their children & grand children. 2) These immigrants are kind of foundation stone of this country's success & they have to suffer. 3) Objective is to have a better & intelligent tracking system & I do not see time factor as constraint in that. ThanksFlag

Name: Shujia Xie on Apr 17, 2002Comments: Currently, parents visiting the US from foreign country obtain B visa. The 30 day limit on B visa make it inpractical for parents/relatives to visit US from many foreign countries. This group of people and their loved ones in the US do not deserve these punishments.Flag

Name: Vijay Motwani on Apr 17, 2002Comments: One important fact that has been overlooked on Visitor Visa 30 day validity is..that our parents who come to visit us ......might not be able to communicate properly with the INS officers at port of entry because of language problems...How are then they supposed to convince the officer of the extra length of stay...!!! If they can't properly communicate with the posrt of entry officer in English..they will be limited to 30 days at the discreation of the officer...no matter how importnat it might be for the visitors to obtain an extra length of stay.Flag

Name: Pavan Kesireddy on Apr 17, 2002Comments: I think 30 days is unfair for visitors comming from across the globe, specially from India, Australia where the flying time is around 24 Hrs. It's percieved as a once in a lifetime oppurtunity for old aged parents, visting their family in US. When the country is too big and every corner is beautifull and worth making a visit, 30 days is too short.Flag

Name: Ravi Chakka on Apr 17, 2002Comments: I think they should check background of the sponser and reasons why they are sponsering the visitor to determine duration of stay rather than a 30 day period. Since average Indian family if they have to spend 2,000 - 2,500 dollars for the tickets to stay for a month with their kids they would decide against visiting US as 2000 - 2500 dollars could be annual expenditure to raise a family in most parts of India. If the visit is to assist their daughter/daughter-in-law during pregnancy they would like to be with their daughter/daughter-in-law for atleast six months which is a genuine enough reason to grant visa for 6 months.Flag

Well if this rule is implemented the immediate families of the imigrants will get affected apart from the economy which is still struggling to come out of the recession....Flag
