Name: Dennis Ward on Nov 28, 2006Comments: as well as the above proposals, I feel that a 4 or 5 storey would be out of place in Aylesford particularly as it would be just over the reiver from the historic Friary. We constantly suffer from drains backing up as the sewage pipes under the river are inadequate, this is particularly relevant to our house 485 Station Road which seem to be at the lowest point. Any further developement may make this worse.Flag

Name: Martin Collins on Nov 28, 2006Comments: I can't believe what i've just heard. If Barratt's proposals go ahead then the standard of the whole village will be lowered. As an existing residant living right next to the Sommerfield site I feel that it is inappropreate to have blocks of flats towering over our small estate as this will invade our privicy. Also, after seeing Barrat's last development area, I feel that the properties would be inappropriate for the area. Aylesford is a beatiful village which should not be destroyed by the proposed monstrosities. This clearly shows that Barrats are only interested in profit not the safety of the local children as the ammount of cars would only jepadise this and add to the conjestion that is almost intollrable now!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 1, 2006Comments: are there plans to build more schools, nhs dentists, medical centres to support these plans will the problems with water supply in this area be further hampered by more residents living here Heathcote Close residents have enough problems trying to get onto the main road without more traffic. I can't think of one good reason for the proposal to go aheadFlag

Name: David Barber on Dec 2, 2006Comments: I have serious concerns that the proposed development will put too great a strain on our already heavily congested village. How will public services be beefed up to sustain 1000 potential new residentsFlag

Name: Mark And Karen Webber on Dec 2, 2006Comments: Over the 10 years we have been living in aylesford speeding has steadily worstened and there has been 1 death too many in the last 5. Having a young family who walk to school along station rd every day,we feel this planning proposal would only add to our worries.Flag

Name: Peter Cheal on Dec 3, 2006Comments: It is totally ludicrous that a village the size of Aylesford would be able to accomodate a possible 1000 people. This would cause absolute chaos.Flag

Name: Gareth Sharpe on Dec 12, 2006Comments: The 2 level crossings on station road already cause near gridlock along Hall road (Greenacres) and throughout Aylesford Village (High Street / Rochester Road). The increased traffic movements from this development will tip this over the edge, making it impossible to get out of Aylesford Village, Medway Court, Heathcote Estate of Greenacres at peak times.Flag

Name: Graham Wall on Feb 17, 2007Comments: I oppose this development as, this will overload the local ameneties. Our schools are busting out, you cannot get a doctors appoinment unless you claim it is an emergency etc etc. I am also worried as the designs that have been built recently are completely opposite to any the village has had previously. Why do we build such awful houses They alos block the skyline due to there height! Please stop this build!. Personally I think it should be made into a local area for our kids to play, a youth club, or something. Graham WallFlag

Name: Michael Hales on Feb 25, 2007Comments: I am horrified that 458 units could be proposed on such a site. As a Station Road resident I am concerned on the impact it will have not the community as a whole as such a development is out of keeping. With only one parking space per unit which will lead to dangerous kerbside parking nad how are schools supposed to cope Our Doctor's at Martin Square already cannot cope with the recent population boost - just try getting an appointment! I am not against a development but not one on this scale - it is just total greed on behalf of the developers.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 5, 2007Comments: We live at 34 Friars View, the last house on the other side of the rail track. When we saw the proposed plans for the development, we were shocked that Barratt propose to build in the woods beyond our house. There was a lovely view of a woodland across from our house, but people have already been there and cleared most of the trees, I certainly can't understand how in such a small space they propose to build several tall buildings. Why can't we bring the value of the area up by building decent luxury housing instead of creating a dense community of cramped housing. I thought we were beyond creating estates like this.Flag
