In a period when home investments have dropped to 40% of their initial value, while property taxes have increased or remained the same, it is now time that legislators institute fair revenue collections without unfairly taxing property owners. Whether automatic reassessments occur at appropriate intervals or real estate taxes are replaced with income, sales or other taxes is second only to the importance of treating constituent home owners with a non-discriminatory and fair tax system.
