Demand Scheduling to stop FATIGUE
Petition
From the Flight Attendants in the employment of Colgan Air, Inc. and represented by The United Steel Workers – Members of Local 9535
Standing united as the members of USW LU9535, we are demanding that our employer, Colgan Air, Inc. implement immediate changes to our working conditions to prevent fatigue by:
- Utilizing the recommendations brought to the company by LU 9535 scheduling committee members,
- Elimination of scheduling more than 3 day trips consecutively,
- Elimination of scheduling greater than 5 legs (including DH) in one calendar day,
- Allowing a scheduled meal break for greater than 9 hours of duty,
- Scheduling greater than 12 hours of REST during a pairing,
- Elimination of scheduled "sit time" in excess of 2.5 hours, and
- Any additional working conditions that induce fatigue and prevent us from performing our duties at peak performance, for the safety of our flight attendants, our customers, and fellow crew members.
WE WILL NOT WORK WHEN WE ARE FATIGUED
By signing this petition by hand OR electronically, I agree to the aforementioned and will not work when I am fatigued. I urge Colgan Air, Inc to cease and desist in scheduling the members of LU9535 with unacceptable working conditions.
This petition was reviewed and approved by the LU9535 President.
