Augusta University: Evaluate Cooperation with Intelligence Agencies!
Augusta University's Chief Integrity Officer should evaluate whether hosting representatives of agencies which participate in covert operations, indefinite detention, assassination, torture and its associated medical ethics violations, rendition, spying, mass data mining and persecution of whistleblowers while obstructing efforts to inform the public of these operations is compatible with the mission of a public university, especially one which contains the State of Georgia's medical school.
Background
Augusta University hosted a Cyber Conference on October 12 and October 13, 2016. Among the purposes of the conference was to integrate further Augusta's educational and business infrastructure with the military and covert agencies' intelligence services. This will help support the expanding Cyber Command Center at nearby Fort Gordon.
Participants in the conference included Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan and National Security Administration Deputy Director Richard Ledgett.
