I do not believe that the judge fully understands the repercussions that this decision will eventually have. Terrible.Flag

Name: Dave Chadderton on Feb 22, 2010Comments: This ridiculous decision has to be overturned or non-leaue football will be descimated. At a time when we are trying to get more people to take up sport and get active this will put many people of taking up any kind of contact sport not just football.Flag

Name: Duffers (Matlock Town FC) on Feb 22, 2010Comments: Every sympathy that the lad's 'career' was ended but this has gone too far and an innocent club and its fans could suffer massively as a result. With no video proof much of the 'evidence' given against Danny White should not have been relied on.Flag

Name: John Carr on Feb 22, 2010Comments: I have every sympathy with the player on the recieving end of the injuries but this creates a precedent unsurpased by anything I have come across. If the oficials on the day took no action how on earth can photographs and the comments of individuals who werent even at the game be used to determine the outcome to this farcical situation. I played amateur football at a reasonably high level for over 25 years and find this decision an insult to the game, to the individuals who play it and the officials who run it. I myself can remember injuries picked up over the years including off the ball incidents that with any degree of encouragement could have seen me running for the small claims court. In this world of claim that we live in we really do have to be very careful that decisions like this dont have a spiralling effect on not only the game of football but life in general. Where will it end?? The judge in question needs to get his head out of the clouds and go and watch a game of football played at high pace on a worse than flat pitch where both sides are competing against each other for the win. What is needed here is adequate insurance protection before the players take to the field. Retrospectively blaming another player and club for an incident that the referee and officials saw nothing wrong with, off the back of photographic evidence, is actually laughable and farcical. Come on Mr Judge - get with the programme!!!!!!Flag

Name: Lawrence Short on Feb 22, 2010Comments: Please overturn this ludicrous decision before our beloved sport goes to the dogs, which it will at our level, if it becomes a non contact sport. Common scense must prevail, only a very small number of players delibrately go out to injure another player and these always get found out. Football has been played like this for well over 100 years please let it continue for another 100 years.Flag

Name: Mark Williams on Feb 22, 2010Comments: Absolutely disgusted with this decision, it could ruin the Non-league game completely and already has ruined Danny whites career. Is one mans completely accidental challenge enough to end 130 years of history at their club? In my opinion its absolutely ridiculous and the judge needs to explain himselfFlag

Name: Michael Holdsworth on Feb 22, 2010Comments: This is a ridiculous ruling and sets a dangerous precedent. There is a risk of injury involved in all contact sports, not just football. If people are going to be sued everytime an innocent challenge results in an injury then people will stop playing football at the lower levels. This could lead to many players and clubs being sued when they can't afford to be. This could lead to the end of football as we know it, if not the end of non-league football full stop.Flag
