My petition is pretty simple, I want audio and video recording in all Washington state classrooms. How many times have you heard about a child that has told their parents that something has happened at school but the parents were unable to prove it? How many teachers have been accused of doing something yet were unable to prove otherwise? We have children who can not speak and are unable to tell their parents if something happens, we have children who may be scared that nobody will believe them; audio and video recording is the answer. I know that budgets are being cut, but this is about protecting are children as well as all the great teachers out their. We have audio and video recording on school buses in case something happens, so why not in the classrooms?
