Please leave comments: I first heard of Audie Murphy and his extraordinary accomplishments in WWII, as a child. I have watched his movie to Hell and Back, more times than I can count and have his book by the same name and also No Name on the Bullet. As a retired member of the Air Force and Army Brat by birth, I still feel a special connection to him, as I'm sure many others do as well. I believe that this is an honor, that is long overdue and should be confirmed upon him as soon as possible. His selfless sacrifice's without reguard to his own personal safety or well being, is what the Greatest Generation was all about. Without men like Audie, who knows where we would be today and what flag would be flying over our nation's capital, as well as many others.
