Please leave comments: USMA 1980 My father made sure we knew about Audie Murphy when I was a child. I saw his movies and knew his story. One of the first book reports I did was his action at Holtswihr. I have searched for music written about Audie's generation and it is rare. My Uncle Harold was at Normandy with the 82nd. He died June 6, 2012 at 87. He was 17 like Audie when he joined the Army in 1942. His legacy, those of other WII vets I know and what I knew of Audie Murphy prompted me to write a song about their sacrifice. It is called "Courage was the Light". I am getting the demo done and will work on getting it published. One thought I have is to get a music video done and get it played at the Army-Navy game. I may have to self publish.
