Today we recieved our eleventh endorsement and signature from a Medal of Honor recipient, Corporal Rodolfo "Rudy" Hernandez (signature #6891) who recieved his Medal of Honor for actions near Wontong-ni, Korea on 31 May, 1951, as a member of the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team.

Cpl. Hernandez, a member of Company G, distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty in action against the enemy. His platoon, in defensive positions on Hill 420, came under ruthless attack by a numerically superior and fanatical hostile force, accompanied by heavy artillery, mortar, and machinegun fire which inflicted numerous casualties on the platoon. His comrades were forced to withdraw due to lack of ammunition but Cpl. Today we recieved our tenth endorsement and signature from a Medal of Honor recipient, Tech 5 Robert D. Maxwell (signature #6841) who earned his Medal of Honor in WWII at Besancon, France, on 7 September, 1944, as a member of the 3rd Infantry Division.
