Colonel Wesley Fox, a Vietnam recipient of the Medal of Honor, signed the
petition for Audie.Colonel Fox enlisted in the Marine Corps as a Private in
1950 and retired in 1993 at age 63 after 43 years of service. He had been a
First sergeant at the time of his commissioning and then achived the rank of
full Colonel prior to his retirement.Colonel Fox served in both Korea and
Vietnam and was awarded 4 Purple Hearts. In addition, post-retirement he
continued to wear the uniform for an additional 8 years as deputy Commandant of
Cadets at Virginia Tech.Colonel Fox is a true legend within the Marine

John Baker Jr, who earned the Medal of Honor in Vietnam and is the former Vice
President of the Medal of Honor Society endorsed the petition for
Audie. Mr. Baker is a retired Army Master Sergeant who also retired from the VA

Captain Tom Kelley, a Vietnam recipient of the Medal of Honor and who served
from 2003-2011 as the Secretary of the Massachusetts Department of Veterans'
Services has endorsed the petition.Captain Kelley received the Medal of

Dr. (Chief) Joseph Medicine Crow is a Native American and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded in 2009 for his work
as a historian and author.Dr. Medicine Crow was the first member of the Crow tribe to
graduate college. This was in 1939 and he was awarded a degree in
anthropology.During WWII he served as a Corporal in the same area
as Audie (Vosges Mountains) and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.Post war
he has written many books on the
Plains Indians and is the Crow tribal historian. In addition, his Grandfather served as a Scout
under Custer and was at the Little Big Horn.Dr. Medicine Crow is a guest

MCPO William R. Charette, USN (ret), a Medal of Honor recipient from the Korean War has signed our petition as signature number 9253.
Mr. Charette served 26 years in the Navy retiring in 1977 as a Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9), the highest enlisted rank and had the distinct honor in 1958 of selecting the remains of the Unknown Serviceman representing WWII missing, that would later be placed in the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington.Of the five Navy Corpsman who received the Medal of Honor for service in Korea Mr. Charette was the only one who survived to see the medal presented.
