Name: Anonymous on Dec 4, 2007Comments: First off, regulating what someone does with their ATV on their own land is un-American. There are a lot of people that use ATVs as a work vehicle on their own land to haul wood, haul manure and do yard work and kids help with that. If children are properly trained and not allowed to use machines that are too large for them, there should be no problem. The problem has come in with irresponsible parents allowing children to use machines that are way to large for them and to not require them to use safety gear like helmts and eye protection. Accidents will always happen in life. If a kid gets hit by a car while riding his bicycle on the street, should we now ban children from using bicycles. This bill is punshing the many because of the few and it is being brought about by someone who suffered a tragic loss and while everyone mourns that loss, that loss happened because an adult did not do their job. Not the parents but a third party. You cannot regulate that. That type of person will always be irresponsible. This regulation will hurt those of that do try to follow the rules while still enjoying our ATVs for fun and for work.Flag

It is much easier to get a 5 or 6 year old to listen than a fourteen year old that thinks he knows everything.Flag
