Name: Anonymous on Nov 11, 2007Comments: My son has been racing with the New England ATV-Mx series for 4 years now as well as a few ATVA National events. The kids in these youth class are some of the most talented and professional riders that I have ever seen. I would say that they could handle their ATV's better than most "adults"! These kids all wear the best safety equiptment and I have never seen any of them ever even question having to wear it. There are always some parents the make wrong decisions, please don't let them make the majority of us responsible parents and youth riders, look bad. I STRONGLY invite anyone in favor of this bill, to attend a professionally organized race event and see the level of riders that these kids are at, and also see the commitment to safety and to the sport that we all have. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do NOT let this bill get passed.Flag

Proper training and ATV sizing are crutial to child ATV use, but not as much as parent responsiblity. A law that states that a child can not ride until they are 14 years old would be about as effective as the drinking age law.Flag

Name: Garrett Barnes on Nov 12, 2007Comments: There isn't any problem with atv's or any sport ect. as long as they are taught how to use the machines correctly and safely. It is when there is no guidance ,training or little to no supervision ect ect that things get out of hand. I have to kids plus my wife and I that ride.Flag

Name: Faye Filson on Nov 12, 2007Comments: I can't believe that you will pass another law that protects us from our own stupidity!!! Our family rides together, there are 18 atvs total when we go, we wear the proper gear and ride responsible, children NEVER go without adult supervision. This is a wonderful way for our family to spend time together and keeps our children occupied and keeps them from getting into trouble with things like drugs and alcohol!! Please rethink this stupid law, make people be responsible for themselves we don't need laws for that!!!Flag
