Our neighborhood has been established since the 1970's. Children of our neighborhood have attended schools in the city limits of Alabaster for many years. Almost every house on our street has atleast one child attending schools in Alabaster. Most of them have been in Alabaster schools for over 5 years. Having to change to the Montevallo Schools will have the following negative impacts: 1. Lower quality of education 2. Commute very out of our way 3. Substantial increase in gas expense for personal vehichles & school buses. 4. Loss of extracurricular activites and frindships 5. Lower property values In conclusion; all of our children deserve a quality education and should not be forced to be sent to different schools. The Alabaster Board of Education and City of Alabaster, should keep all zoning areas as is for the sake of our children's future and development of our community.
