The rule of the ATP and the ITF to penalize racquet breaking is antiquated and without purpose. It almost invariably helps the quality of the match when a player is allowed to express emotion. Additionally, it adds to the simple entertainment value of the match to be allowed to witness the emotion of the players along with the mechanics of the game. It is, we feel, detrimental to the game to have a regulation concerning the expression of emotion (within reason) of the player
