    Comments: I think the American public needs to wake up. Professional athletes are being paid way too much to PLAY A GAME! I enjoy watching some sports, but these athletes are given way too much credit for what they are doing. Role models...I would rather have my kids look up to someone who is doing something productive for the world. Yes, athletes are providing ENTERTAINMENT. But that's just what it is...ENTERTAINMENT! These athletes are laughing all the way to the bank. The other slap in the face is that it is so expensive to attend a sporting event. These athletes don't care about the public. If they did, they wouldn't be asking for so much money. I recall an athlete who was offered a multi-million dollar contract saying, "I have a family to feed..." What is that garbage statement about He must have a HUGE family. That was an incredibly arrogant statemtnt and it made me sick! We have families to feed too, but some of us have IMPORTANT jobs to do to earn our money. "What about the "average joe" who can't afford to attend a sporting event Admission tickets, refreshments & souveniers could easily cost attendees several hundreds of dollars. It's ridiculous! Would they consider taking a cut in pay just so people could afford to attend sporting eventsEducators & those in law enforcement have some of the most important jobs. Do you realize that some people hold athletes in higher esteem than teachers and police officers Pathetic! Americans need to wake up and stop supporting and / or accepting the high prices demanded by professional sports. For goodness sake, they're playing games!

    Comments: I love sports and all, but I don't think athletes should be paid so much when all they care about is the money and like the text said, "why are athletes wanting more when they already have more and their creating a fuss with lockouts and strikes" That is what I want to hear from those athletes. And if this petition does n't get those salaries lowered than somebody do something about it because I sure will.

What right in the world do you have to say anything about another person's pay Putting a CAP on what a person can make is very communistic thing to to...how would you for me to say you can only drink water once a week, or say you can only kiss your children twice a week...sounds pretty stupid ha I am a Wall Street executive as well as Chairman and CEO of a company called InPlays Sports Corp.

    Comments: To me, yes they get paid way too much. BUT WHAT REALLY GETS ME IS HOW IN OUR WORLD TODAY, HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE SO OBSESSED WITH MONEY AND OTHER ITEMS THAT DON'T MATTER. THEY THINK IT WILL BRING THEM HAPPINESS, BUT IT DOESN'T. MAYBE TEMPORARY HAPPINESS, BUT THEY WILL NEVER BE TRULY HAPPY BECAUSE THEY WILL ALWAYS WANT MORE AND MORE. THE ONLY TRUE JOY WE CAN FIND IS IN CHRIST.

    Comments: your an idiot there alraeady is a cap on salary's an athlete can make, unfortunitly the problem is if the team goes over there salary cap all they have is a fee to pay. Also athletes are paid because over 60,000 people show up and pay anywhere from $35 to hundreds of dollars to watch them play everyweek sometimes multiple times a week, thats not to mention all the sponsors and endorsments they have. So what im sayin is if you have ever been to a professional game you are jus as guilty as they team owner who pays them for their salaries
