We, the undersigned, are the students, faculty, alumni, and friends of Alabama State University. As the details regarding the financial situation of our beloved university continue to develop, we believe that a comprehensive, forensic audit must be performed and that the details of that audit should be made available to the public in order to clear any negativity that the events of the past few weeks may have cast on Alabama State University. We applaud Governor Bentley’s decision to hire an independent firm with no former ties to ASU and we believe that step is essential to setting ASU back on a positive path. We encourage all parties involved to cooperate fully with this forensic audit and all related activities associated with it in order to establish a culture of full transparency at ASU.
