Ralph BryantI have loved the Dome for many years and would hate to see it demolished or turned into something other than that for which it was designed.
Maaike Van BemmelIt's unacceptable to tear down a Landmardk like the Astrodome - we should be able to make use of our famous 'dome'.

Mark JohnsonThere shouldn't have to be a need for a petition. This building is THE Houston landmark. I'm chaining myself to the bulldozers.

AnonymousThe Astrodome is an amazing architectural feat. Style, design and many hours have gone into this wonderful historical landmark. Preservation is key for the many generations to come. We cannot let the Reliant 'decision makers' bulldoze this for a parking structure for the Reliant Stadium.

AnonymousWe can't afford to not save it! It is historically significant as being the very first football stadium with a dome roof- to say nothing of the fact that it is one of the few remaining multipurpose stadiums left. I wish they could have saved my beloved Fulton County Stadium, but I hope they save this one!

Jan ZollarsJudge Ed Emmett and members of the Harris County Commissioners Court, Robert McNair, Paul Somerville, Janis Schmees and Willie Loston, It's time for the City of Houston to stop distroying its history. This unique and first of its kind structure should be used as a museum if nothing else. Each day as another building falls to the ground, a new part of me is erased. At this rate, I will no longer exist in another year! or two! Houston is no longer home to its original citizens, it's become just another nondescript location where greed wins out over history. DON'T TEAR IT DOWN! Jan Zollars

Sarah GishAs founder of SAVE OUR LANDMARKS (www.saveourlandmarks.org) it is tiresome to see our history being bulldozed on a daily basis. I know that creative minds can come together to make something great of the Astrodome -- a symbol of Houston's past that can be a connection to its future. Here's an idea for starters: house a Houston history museum there!
Zach SniderThe Astrodome is a historic landmark to this great city and if we continue tearing down all of our great cities legacy we will become a city with no history.
Nancy C. aurelioLet's save the Astrodome!
Linda Summers Sansing
Maria Christina SimmonsEven though I do not currently live in Houston, I would deeply miss this landmark! Just as Astroworld was, the Astrodome has been a great part in so many lives and has been a great landmark for the city of Houston! Long live the Astrodome!!!!
Jordan MonroeI don't live in Houston anymore, but I grew up goin to the astrodome. That place has to many good memories to destroy, and I'm sure there are thousands of people who feel the same way I do.

AnonymousAs a native Houstonian, the Astrodome has always been a landmark to me and a part of Houston's history. I recently returned to Houston after four years living in downtown Chicago, IL where they take great care to preserve the architectural history of the city. Whenever friends from Houston came to visit in Chicago, they always wanted to go on one of the numerous architectural tours. Houston must preserve the Astrodome as one of the true wonders of our city.
