Derek Wheeless | We need to keep the Astrodome. What a terrific symbol of Texas pride it represents. It would be such a terrible mistake to demolish it. Texas Stadium is already slated for demolition. Let's keep the Astrodome!

Michelle A. Riojas | There has to be something that can be done with the Dome other than to demolish it!!! I have many memories of baseball games, rodeos, concerts and the Republican Convention!!!

Zoe Rascoe | My husband and I grew up in Houston and have many relatives still living there. I remember my first visit to the Astrodome - to hear Elvis at the Rodeo! I hope the Commissioners can find a safe and cost effective new life for this historic building.

John Bricker | As a native Houstonian that has moved away from the city, I would hate to return to Houston with my kid to see that one of Houston's "historical" places had been destroyed. As the first domed stadium, knocking down the Astrodome is not only destroying Houston history, but a part of history for everyone in America.

Linda Williams | I lived in Baytown when the dome opened and have been to many events including grand opening. It is iconic to me.

Kathryn Mueller | My husband, Ken, and I often visited the Astrodome with our three children, Kristy, Kirby, and Keary, with our friends, our children's friends, and with our special national and international friends in their visits to Texas. The astrodome was THE tourist attraction in our day and time..and it was not just the place to see baseball or football games and/or other special events--it was an attraction all in itself! The unusual shape of the dome; the fact that it could be used any day of the week, regardless of the weather conditions , the fact that it was comfortable with working air conditioning made this historic land mark even more magical. Do NOT destroy this historic site; do NOT destroy the magic. SAVE THE ASTRODOME!
Karen Brown | I was born and raised in Houston, and the Dome is as much a part of my history as Houston's. I think that the Astrodome is one of those iconic symbols of Houston & Texas, and to lose it would leave a gaping hole in our heritage. How many other historical structures have been lost, only to realize too late what they meant to us? Please don't let the Astrodome join that list.
Don Harris | I covered events at the dome when I was a newsman at KNUZ/KQUE . I am a director of Preservation Palestine in Palestine, Texas. The dome is a national treasure!

Anonymous | You can't tear down history, do you not want anything left to show future generations. Why, why? To many historic places just get bulldozed and then when its too late everyone goes, oh no, what did we do? Where is the Astrodome? Oh, they tore it down. Stupid.......
Will Bailey | The Astrodome is a historical building and should be preserved as such. Just because it's not as old as the Alamo or Goliad does not mean it does not have historical significance.
Rick Leal | My dad took us to many games at the dome. We saw the a game there during one of the final games played at the Astrodome against the Dodgers.
Josh Bacon | I miss Dome Dog's!
