AnonymousThe Astrodome is part of history. Houston is such a new town that we don't have too many historic sites. I'm sure the Astrodome can be put to good use in many different ways, thus preserving the historic building.

Ann CriswellHere's another example of "they paved over Paradise and put up a parking lot." The Astrodome is an architectural treasure. It gave Houston a place in history because nothing like it had been built in the world before. Those who want to raze it will find in the not too distant future that they'll face the same situation -- their future opponents will say that Reliant Stadium and the Rodeo buildings are past their prime, have no architectural merit and should be torn down. What goes around, comes around in Houston real est at e .

Ange Keck, RealtorAlthough the 7 Wonders of the World ran out of room for the Astrodome (the Astrodome was the 8th), Houstonians still have a place in their hearts for the old gal. Can we halt all the tax spending and reuse, refuse, and recycle the icon? I feel as though Houston has become the Never Ending Story and the Nothing has taken away my childhood. No more swimming at the Shamrock Hotel pool, no more pony rides at Peppermint Park and no more skipping school to go to Astroworld. Please Please Please let me remember my first rodeo and the days when the Astros wore orange.

Charles G.McCarthyLet us NOT raze the Astrodome. Using if for the Dynamo sounds feasible. Remember ... WE OWN THE ASTRODOME!!
Pat KennedyI do not want the Astrodome demolished. Not only would it be a waste of my tax dollars, it would destroy what is a prominent and historical Houston landmark. I'm sure there are other profitable uses that could be developed for our Astrodome.
AnonymousPreserve the Astrodome as a historic place! Why does Houston repeatedly destroy our history? It makes this great city with a rich history seem like just another "new" Southern city in this country. One of the things that makes the cities of this country great (ala New York and Chicago) is their history and the architecture that reflects that. Stop preventing Houston from owning that legacy as well! I support AmnesiaHouston.org and the GHPA on this - save the dome!!
bruce burgnerwhy oh why do we consistantly destroy all aspects of our history and then wonder why we can't attract tourists and visitors. the only people that visit houston are those that are out to make a buck. and when they do make that buck they go on a nice vacation and spend it elsewhere! so, don't tear down the dome. it's just wrong. and thanks to amesia for making us aware.
Donna KacmarThe Astrodome is an architectural and cultural icon and show be saved to remain an important part of Houston's entertainment history and capital.

Emmanuel RoblesThe memories I have of the Astrodome are some of the greatest from childhood. Going to the Dome for a family outing, with my little league team or just a group of friends, the experiences of the Dome are fond. To hear the crack of a bat and the cheers of the fans walking up the ramps always brought joy to my soul cause I knew that the greatest team on the face of the earth (Astros) had just got a hit.
AnonymousThe Astrodome is a historical facility and should be preserved. Houston should pay more attention to it's history and how to incorporate it into the city's future as opposed to turning it into a pile of rubble.

AnonymousI was born here in Houston and there is truly nothing here that has historical integrity. Can we please stop deleting all the memories-I cried when Astroworld went away. Memories light the corners of my mind-so dark here in the space city!
Rod CrosbyHow could you demolish a huge chunk of Houston's history. It's part of who we are!
