The 2012/2013 Aston University fees for on-campus accommodation have been released and they are as follows:
Stafford Tower: £78 (an 8% increase from £72 this academic year)
Lakeside: £116 (a 5% increase from £110 this academic year)
New Build 7 bed: £121 (a 5% increase from £115 this academic year)
New Build 5 bed: £129 (a 3% increase from £125 this academic year)
(Figures are calculated per week on a 39 week contract – this does NOT include the internet)
The UK average inflation rate for January 2011 to January 2012 was 4.475%. With this in mind and given the higher tuition fees from the start of the 2012 academic year, as well as generally lower disposible income for students, do you feel that these increases are justified?
