Name: Anonymous on Apr 1, 2010Comments: Thanks - I have a gym membership which, due to the increased length of my day due to travel, is virtually unused. I could of course, spend even less time with my family, but my work life balance is already seriously compromised.Flag

Name: Matt Clayton on Apr 1, 2010Comments: There is certainly a demand for this and a great idea to promote healhy living. Until recently I was a member of JJB gym in Macclesfield, where we were able to get a 10% deduction as more than 10 staff attended, so there would certainly be a high demand for free membership. And it wouldn't result in lost income for the council from having extra members.Flag

Name: Peter Slawson on Apr 1, 2010Comments: This is an excellent idea. I currently go the gym 3 to 4 times a week: It's a council owned gym on the Wirral where live. It currently cost's me £27 per month. To be fair the gym is of s good standard. Due to relocation I will be moving "East" soon and a free gym membership would be a nice little saving as money is so tight these days. Also healthy staffs are happier staff & happier staffs are much less likely to become ill. Simple logic.Flag

Name: Emma Warren on Apr 7, 2010Comments: Hi, it would be great to get free usage but at the very least it would make sense to have a reasonable discount for all council employees. All gyms offer corporate rates and this is no different so why don't the council offer this? The link between exercise and improved work performance is very strong so hopefully the council will realise this. ThanksFlag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 13, 2010Comments: Its a great idea. As a cheshire east employee myself and unison members . I reckon we deserve some recongnition for our hard work and mostly the pressure of all the changes . I feel staff care policy has been undermined and lost . cheshire council is huge in comparision to other organisation but still don't offer their employees some discount or privileges in using their facilities such as : gym , golf courses and other.Flag
