I found a message board regarding aspertame and read all of the side effects to her and she had MANY of them. She stopped ingesting aspartame and they all went away!!! |

PEMBERTON | I found out about 20 years ago tht every time I drank a diet soda, my tongue would sting; my stomach would hurt, throat would sometimes burn, and I just felt awful after drinking them. So I quit. Whenever I come across a person giving out samples (especially 'diet' or lo-cal' drinks) at Costco, I just tell them that I am allergic to artificial sweeteners, and ask them to check the labels; most of the time they say no, and when I check it for myself - not that I don't TRUST them - I find that it does, indeed, have artificial sweeteners. I NEVER consume ANYthing that has ingredients that have more than five syllables -LOL! |

Who knows what else it is in.... i am not very good about reading nutrition labels and if aspartame is dangerous it should not just be sitting on shelfs where innocent people who are not aware can become victims of its side effects! My friend has also experienced some of the side effects ( she is a diet coke drinker) I want to help but signing this petition i dont think products with aspartame should be on our grocery store shelfs! |

She almost died 2 years ago from Kettle Corn, I did not see the artificial sweetener in the ingredients list. It is criminal what all it is in. She has had this problem with seizures since she was 17, she is now 40. This should all be banned from the market. Think of all of the children ingesting this junk. It is also in tons of medications, over the counter as well as prescribed. |

Then I realized that aspartame was a new item that was showing up in foods, soda etc. Once we stop letting her have anything with aspartame the headaches stopped. This was years ago. |

I gave up Diet Coke immediately and within a week my cough had completely gone. I now avoid Aspartame the best I can. I really think this substance should be banned and I think it is terrifying how many products it is found in including some cough medicines! |
