This petition has been created to give students college credit for their American Sign Language courses. These rigorous courses have been taken at the Los Angeles Pierce College, where the courses show to be CSU and UC transferable. So please sign this petition if you support the idea that American Sign Language is not English, and thus is foreign, and those who have taken these courses should be awarded proper credit.
For those of you who don\'t know, Sign language comes from the French language, and is closer to French than to English.
UCLA IS NOT WILLING TO AWARD CREDIT FOR THOSE WHO TOOK ASL, EVEN THOUGH ASL IS A HARD AND CHALLENGING CLASS THAT WE ALL PUT SO MUCH TIME AND EFFORT INTO. PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION SO WE CAN COME ONE STEP CLOSER TO BEING AWARDED THE PROPER CREDIT FOR THESE RIGOROUS COURSES
and all of those who feel that ASL should count as a foreign language course
