Comments: I join in solidarity with my APA brothers and sisters in their collective condemnation of AsianWeek's decision to publish what constitutes a base racist diatribe against my African American brothers and sisters. AsianWeek, why would you promote hatred by publishing the disjointed rantings of Kenneth Eng The shame.

Comments: This is the type of material that keeps communities of color divided. I understand the importance of free speech, debate and dialogue, but this article was done in poor taste and is highly inflammatory. As the saying goes, "you cannot yell fire" in a crowded moviehouse". AsianWeek should know better to publish an article like this. Aside from the prejudice of this article, Mr. Eng is a horrible writer, who backs his argument with questionable anecdotal information and his own biased opinions. This sounds like something that you would read on a message board from an anonymous poster, not an article that is worthy of being published in a magazine. AsianWeek, please use much better judgement next time.

Comments: Thanks to all for responding to AW's weak editorial board. The paper moves more and more the political right. If it were not a "give away" I would not even bother to pick it up. AW ain't got a clue RE: the contrubutions of African American people have made for us as AM to prosper and enjoy many of the "fruits" of American society.

Comments: I am appalled by the thinking (or lack thereof) reflected by a column like this appearing in Asianweek. Isn't the point of this magazine to reflect the many different voices of a diverse Asian American community Why give a platform to a fool who openly advocates discrimination against a whole race, not to mention his weakly reasoned 'evidence'. Eng turns my stomach, and I'm deeply disappointed in Asianweek for their absolute lack of judgement. Way to send the civil rights movement back 40 years!

Comments: This is unacceptable, irresponsible editorial policy on the part of Asian Week, not sharing "diversity" of views. African Americans paved the way for Civil Rights in this country, with many Asian Americans by their side not just for solidarity, but for our own liberation. This is racist, shameful and very damaging to the Asian community, and does a disservice to all the people and organizations building strong, genuine multiracial coalitions. Shame on Asian week - this proves that it is even more irrelevant and backwards than it already was.

Comments: AsianWeek's weak-ass response about "diversity of opinions" is as offensive as the article itself. Rather than print the rantings of a racist a-hole blaming others for his own inadequacies, how about showing some guts and taking a stand against these divisive, disgusting and ignorant views What about it, AsianWeek Part of the problem or part of the solution

Comments: There has been a troubling history of factionalism among different minority groups in the U.S.--NOT on the basis of cultural, behavioral, or inherent differences, as people like Kenneth Eng would like us to believe, but rather power structures and racist institutions that would rather see us people of color divided than as a strong, unified force. By playing to hackneyed and ultimately racist stereotypes, Eng simply reinforces the divisions that have been engineered by those who have segregated, ostracized, terrorized, imprisoned, and/or killed African Americans and Asian Americans for quite some time. We should be seeking to make bonds, not burn bridges.

Comments: There is never justification for publishing racist, hate-mongering articles, regardless who writes it. You demean your profession of providing items newsworthy for Asian Americans and definitely insult people of all races. Kenneth Eng is another nail in the coffin of AsianWeek's relevance and importance today. I don't even want to look at your paper.

It sounds like something the Klan would publish, not a responsible media organization. Shame on you.
