| 903 | lorraine paulson | Racism, sexism, agism, homophobia, nationalism, capitalism w/o humanistic policies, et.al. has no place in a world where media makes us all neighbors. Neighborhood wars could be the end of humankind! One commercial, one article, one speech, ... can inspire ~ or insight ~ millions! We are being called to a higher purpose NOW. We MUST come up to who we truly are ... or perrish. Invoke Blessings, maturity, healing, and Wisdom for all those who don't see this. Peace to us all. | 907 | melissa hilario | Racial bigotry hurts everyone. It is wrong to think we are better than African Americans or any other groups who have historically suffered discrimination. While I support freedom of speech, I do not support any implication that Mr. Eng speaks on behalf of our community. |
| 908 | Martine Suzanne | We call on AsianWeek to take immediate action and issue an unequivocal apology, terminate their relationship with Kenneth Eng, print an editorial debunking the column and setting the record straight, review their editorial policy and process, and hold those responsible accountable. |

| 913 | Engfor President | Last time I checked this is a free country and he has the right to write any opinion that he may have about any race. He was lucky he was able to find a paper that would publish it in these moronic politically correct days. BTW: I think expressing my opinion here and letting it be heard is worth signing a petition that I disagree with (and is of no real consequence anyway). |
| 914 | Andy | GET THE HELL OUT - for those of you who made it sound like Kenneth Eng is the only "racist" in town !!!
FYI, racism is a part of American culture/tradition since way back in the US history, and Mr. Eng - who is an America born US citizen, he is just carrying out this ugly tradition - at no fault of his own. BTW, there are much more of Kenneth's White and Black counterparts (the White "Kenneth Eng" of the "triple K", and the Black "Kenneth Eng" of the Black community, in general), who also have their shares of "slip of tongue". But how many, or how often, they lost their job over it???
BTW, I am NOT here to sign this freaking "petition", because, to me this is just a fxxking joke !!! |

| 916 | Maimounah Masudi | I pray that Kenneth Eng's remarks do not ruin the good relationship that has been and is being established between the Asian and Black American communities in this country. |
| 917 | Zer Iyer | I'm disgusted and deeply disappointed that a "reputable" paper that stands for appreciation of one culture would denigrate another. Asians and other minorities alike would be nowhere in this county without the actions taken by african american leaders during the civil rights era. We should not support any organization, minority-owned or not, that would spew such hatred, bigotry and ignorance into our society. I am deeply disappointed not just as a person of color, but as a human being, in AsianWeek and will never purchase, read or support their magazine again. No one should. |

| 919 | Anonymous | Freedom of speech and press implies social responsibility. There is no room for margin of error for racial bias. A journalist's pen can sometimes be sharper than a sword, as it was in this case. |
| 920 | Eiri Endo | |
| 921 | Dan Tagorda | the editorial board lapse of judgement is unacceptable and they should hold those responsible accountable. |

| 925 | Kalani | This truly saddens me; one would hope that we could move beyond racist attitudes. One would EXPECT common sense from Mr. Eng's editor. We can only shun and discourage these outragous actions, and continue to do what we must, in our efforts to become a more diverse and accepting nation. |

| 927 | melissa nievera | disgusting |
| 928 | Vanessa | Comments such as these should never be spoken by anyone, let alone anotehr person of color. Mr. Eng needs to realize that it was on the backs of the civil rights movement that all people of color have benefitted.
Asians are not white Americans, they are people of color, and he for one should know this, and to be racist and show this type of blatant hatred is an outrage.
He needs to be terminated immediately, there are boycotts forming as we speak. I ahve been contacted this morning on this issue by several groups calling for a boycott of this publiction, and just as AFrican Americans were able to nearly bankrupt the Montgomery Transit Authority, AsianWeek is a cake walk.
This is a shocker coming from another person of color. The paper should distance themselves frm him immediately. |
