16 Ruthann ChouThis is a terrible article. It is anti-represenative of my view on African-Americans as an Asian-American. I would like to write it across the skies: there are Asian-Americans who believe in an American society that is inclusive of people of all colors. Stop hating, start loving!
17 Cathy DangEng's column has just pushed back coalition building another 300 years. Our communities have worked extremely hard together for so many years, we will not let such stupidy and ignorance stand in our way. I urge AsianWeek to make a public apology immediately and hold Eng responsible for his actions.

20 Dan Nguyen-TanThis column is so bad I thought it was a blatently unfunny joke. It's embarrasing that AsianWeek published this garbage.

22 Sean D. Reyes. Esq.I am appalled at such racist statements and ashamed that Mr. Eng would portray his personal bigotry as representative of the Asian-American community. Asian Week needs to take immediate and serious action to begin rectifying its mistake. --Sean Reyes, Past President Utah Minority Bar Association, former executive officer Asian Law Journal (U.C. 27 Sophia Yenunbelievable what Mr. Eng wrote. I am ashamed of him and for him. He should be fired and never allowed to write again.

29 Georgette WongThese comments are outrageous, tasteless and display a lack of good judgment from Mr. Eng and the publishers of AsianWeek. I heartily agree with the viewpoints expressed in this petition.
30 Mitzi Uehara CarterI'm very disturbed that the editors of such a professional journal would allow for such a racist and hateful article to be published. The only professional course at this point is to issue an apology as is demanded by this petition.

35 Ravi Chandra, M.D.I have been protesting Mr. Eng's columns since the first one appeared some time ago. He is unacceptably offensive in his comments, demeaning blacks, asians, and whites, and in his web postings, is derogatory towards women. He should not be in AsianWeek.

39 Mike KimI think he was just being sarcastic. Here is one of his stories where he 'Hates Asians'. http://news.asianweek.com/news/view_article.html?article_id=7db9bd5343504d52fa065fef122fc04d Just probably being fair.
40 Ursula-Ann SiatagaNot cool.

42 Dr. Curtiss Takada RooksAs a multiracial Afro-Asian I am particularly offended. But, what I am all to aware of is that Mr. Eng is not alone with his beliefs within the Asian American communities. America has done a wonderful job of divide and conquer. As an Ethnic Studies and Asian American Studies professor and scholar--who has been interviewed a number of times by AsianWeek for a variety of APIA issues--I am deeply dissappointed and reminded that the struggle is far from over. Curtiss Takada Rooks, Ph.D.
43 Lillian GaledoThanks for leading this.
44 Debbie YeeEng's views need not--and should not--be censored, but if AsianWeek purports that it is "The Voice of Asian America," then it was an ill-considered choice not to have, at the very least, sought a journalist to contribute a counterpoint article. His views, for sure, do not represent the voices of the many of us.

48 Daniel HuynhI call on AsianWeek to address this issue immediately. For being one of the only Asian American press outlets in the nation, I am ashamed that an article such as this happened.
49 Rosario Maria HernandezSuch a racist article is what the Klu Klux Klan, the American Nazists, the racist skin heads, white supremacists, and xenophobics need to keep people of color divided! It is unacceptable that such an article was allowed to be printed without a rebuttal article to debunk Mr. Eng's ideas. I suggest an article in the next edition of Asian Week, not only apologizing to our African American brothers and sisters, but systematically debunking such racist theories and attitudes and its historical roots to oppress non-Caucasians in this country.
