But, what I am all to aware of is that Mr. Eng is not alone with his beliefs within the Asian American communities. America has done a wonderful job of divide and conquer. As an Ethnic Studies and Asian American Studies professor and scholar--who has been interviewed a number of times by AsianWeek for a variety of APIA issues--I am deeply dissappointed and reminded that the struggle is far from over.

It is unacceptable that such an article was allowed to be printed without a rebuttal article to debunk Mr. Eng's ideas. I suggest an article in the next edition of Asian Week, not only apologizing to our African American brothers and sisters, but systematically debunking such racist theories and attitudes and its historical roots to oppress non-Caucasians in this country. |
