In October 2009, my daughter, a 2nd grade student at Saints John and Paul, went to her friends house for a play date which she had done on a number of occasions and as soon as she got there was viciously attacked by their dog. She required close to 70 stitches to her face and 8 on her head and a number of stitches to her mouth. Her eye was barely missed.

I am an animal lover by heart and understand that animal are just that, animals. But when an animal turns on a human being and God forbid a child it is awful. The law here has done nothing to the dog in question and it still resides one street over from where we live. It is let out everyday on a nylon leash that is tied to a flimsy metal banister. I just recently found out that the dog was still alive and it was time for me to take action.  All this time I was under the impression that the state of Ohio or even the county had taken care of the dog.

Just imagine another child walking down that street and that nylon leash breaking. I am asking for signatures to send to a higher authority to get a law passed to euthanize all dogs that viciously attack a person unprovoked.

My daughter will have to go through her life with facial scars and even more mental scars.  Policemen and postmen are allowed to protect themselves from animals who they feel are a threat to them.  My 7 year old daughter had no one to protect her and is not getting justice for what was done to her and no one is paying, not even the dog. Don't misunderstand me, I am not saying we should get rid of dogs completely but once a dog turns on someone it should not be given a second chance.  We have human beings in prison for less things.

I am asking for the help of my fellow friends, sisters and brothers to look into their heart and see what is right in these type of situations and ask what you would do.  Thank you for taking the time to sign my petition.  I will not go down without a fight for my beautiful
daughter.

This is what my baby looked like 24 hours after 18 hours at the hospital.  Her bottom lip was severed split completely in half plus she had lacerations on the top of her head.

Only time will tell how much laser surgery she will need to reduce the scarring.
